NV THEATRE PHILOSOPHY
Theatre Arts challenges students to think creatively, encourages risk-taking, and enables students to apply their problem-solving skills beyond the classroom. Involvement in the Neuqua Valley Theatre program enriches students’ high school learning experience. Through participation in theatre classes, workshops, and productions, the program gives students a skill-based education in hopes of building leaders in the areas of acting, dancing, singing, directing, managing, designing, and writing.
As Neuqua Valley High School educators, we strive to do the following:
• Nurture an enjoyment and understanding of theatre as a craft and tradition.
• Build a family community which focuses on fun, productivity, cooperation and support of one another's endeavors throughout the learning and creative process.
• Create meaningful communicators through spoken and written language, body movement, and creativity.
• Create a common vision by providing necessary skills and techniques through a continual, repetitive learning process and through teamwork, discipline, evaluation, and reflection.
• Shape discerning leaders who understand that quality and proficiency is achieved through a commitment to a specific set of goals and the team, as a whole.
